Happy Anniversary!

Happy Roe v. Wade Anniversary! Ain't it a beautiful day? I'm loving it! I've been meaning to start a feminist blog, particulary a feminist blog that deals with the sexism my fellow women deal with on a day to day basis in Lubbock, Texas. That's right-the 2nd most conservative city in the nation.

So, I thought I'd begin with a little background on myself. I'm currently a 21 year old senior at Texas Tech University. I live in a cute little apartment, have a totally awesome feminist boyfriend, and a really crappy on-campus job. I read a lot, I screw around online a lot, and I'm slowly transitioning to a vegan diet (yikes!) Oh ya...and I'm a little left of center. Just a little! Trust.

How did I become a feminist, you ask? Well, I got pregnant my freshman year. I wasn't stupid or uneducated; I was using birth control and always practised safe sex. I decided to end the pregnancy, and at week 7, I had an abortion. I've never regretted this decision once, and I truly feel that it was the best decision I've ever made in my life. In fact, I performed in a choir concert later that evening. For some chill internet surfing, I recommend www.imnotsorry.net

I'll keep you all posted and updated on the feminist issues taking place not only in Lubbock, but also in West Texas, Texas, and the US as well.
